Summer is in full swing and with that comes another exciting show from Cambridge Theatre Company (CTC). This year, they have chosen to perform Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical. If you’ve seen the film, you’ll know that the show comes with bright and elaborate costumes, and have been combined with exciting and elaborate dance routines to gay anthems.
I was asked to photograph the rehearsals, as well their ‘Priscillian Wax’ event. The aim was to wax cast member’s legs to raise money for the Kite Trust (a local LGBT+ charity), as well as to promote the show. You can still donate money by going to their just giving page. At the time of writing, they have reached 95% of their fundraising goal – so be the one to hit their £200 target!
Priscilla opens next Tuesday at the Great Hall at the Leys, and runs until Saturday 15th July. There are still some tickets on sale, but they’re selling fast so you’ll need to be quick, especially if you want to see a weekend performance.
To pique your interest, here are some photos of the rehearsals and the Priscillian Wax. Enjoy!
