I’ve been a little quiet on the blog for the last few weeks, but not through lack of things to post. It’s coming up to the end of the school year, so there is plenty of extra photography work keeping me busy. More on that in the weeks to come.
Right now, Cambridge Theatre Group are busy rehearsing their latest production, Spamalot – a musical lovingly ripped off from Monty Python and the Holy Grail (their words, not mine). Quite the responsibility then, seeing as members of the original cast of Monty Python used to rehearse two minutes away from the ADC in the footlights basement.
I went to one of their rehearsals and could see it’s shaping up to be good fun. The cast are clearly enjoying themselves and rising to the challenge of performing a much-loved and very funny production.
I also took promo photos of the cast in costume, but you will have to keep your eye out for those by checking on Cambridge Theatre Group’s Facebook page, or by looking for the posters pinned up around Cambridge City Centre.
The production is still several weeks away, but tickets are already nearly one third sold on a twelve night run. It would be wise to book your tickets sooner rather than later, especially if you intend to go to a busy showing at the weekend.
Spamalot is showing at the ADC from 29th June – 9th July at 7.45pm, with Saturday and Sunday Matinees at 2.30pm. To excite you into immediately and uncontrollably clicking on the ADC booking site and reserving tickets for your friends and family, here is a small selection of photos of the cast having fun.
If you are a cast member, please feel free to share this post on Facebook so that everyone can see them!
