Merry Christmas everyone! Santa decided that I’ve been a good boy this year and gave me a shiny new 50mm lens, which I have been playing with over the last few days. There’s plenty of eating, drinking and merrymaking going on in these photos! The weather has been so mild recently it has been difficult to get that festive feeling. However, my parents have done good job by decorating with holly and dousing the Christmas pudding with so much brandy it nearly set the living room on fire. There are also a few photos from the boxing day barrel roll in Grantchester, which is becoming quite a big event with hundreds of spectators cheering the rollers on.
Christmas is almost upon us and if you haven’t got your presents yet, then good luck navigating the swarms of shoppers to find those gifts. Or alternatively, you could buy someone a ticket to The Addams Family musical by Cambridge Theatre Company at the ADC, which runs from 5th – 9th January next year. To excite and entice you, I took some photos of the rehearsal last night.
I have a full disclosure to make – my girlfriend is the director of the show, so you could say I have a vested interest in ensuring it’s a success. However, the ticket sales speak for themselves – there are hardly any seats left for either of the Saturday shows, and overall ticket sales are up to over 75% for the whole run. In the spirit of honesty I am not a big fan of musicals, but I saw this show when it was originally performed by Wilburton Theatre Group in May and I loved it!
Hopefully from the pictures you can see that the cast work really well together – 90% of the cast remain from the May show, so most of them have been working on this production for the entire year. For further information and online booking, here is a link to the ADC website. Hope to see you there in a couple of weeks!
Welcome to my new blog and website!
Seeing as the old website was nearly 6 years old, it was high time it had an overhaul. The main problem with the old site was the lack of a blog, and minimalist design that did not lend itself to the demands of the modern day web user. After months learning the ropes of an unfamiliar interface, here are the results! Hopefully this new site will provide the beginning of a new, more interactive era.
There’s quite a lot of backlogged work to post, but seeing as it’s very nearly the holiday season I thought I would post some images that I shot from yesterday’s Santa Run at the Grafton Centre in Cambridge. It was a fundraising event for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), and the turnout was very impressive. Quite a sight to see hundreds of Santas legging it towards you as the starting horn fires!
